The Bulletin of the Atomic
Scientists
A group of scientists from the University of Chicago who had worked on the
Manhattan Project held grave concerns for potential and intended use of nuclear
materials as weapons, and the likelihood of nuclear war. In 1945 this group
founded the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists to convey their concerns
and information relating to issues surrounding nuclear technology.
Famous amongst educational strategies devised by the Bulletin of Atomic
Scientists is the Bulletin Clock, sometimes referred to as the Doomsday Clock,
providing an assessment of how close humanity approaches the brink of nuclear
disaster.
The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists provide a great deal of information on
their website, including specific information about the Bulletin Clock. Links
