Aims
The CIIA is a Canadian based research institute
that aims to promote a deeper understanding of international affairs and of
Canada's role in a changing world by providing members with a non-partisan,
nation-wide forum for informed discussion, analysis and debate.
Activities
The CIIA has 16 Institute branches, with a
membership of 1,300. The Institute carries on an extensive programme of public
education through its speakers' bureau, conferences, publications, and the
activities of branches across Canada. It collaborates with the business
community through its briefing tours to world capitals and other special
programmes. In addition, it maintains the John Holmes Library, a unique Canadian
resource for students and scholars, and publishes a variety of reference books
and periodicals headed by the International Journal, Behind the Headlines and
Institute Affairs.
Publications and other Resources
The website features International Insights (a
series of internet-based publications), selected issues of Behind the Headlines,
and a large range of reports, speeches and conference proceedings as
downloadable PDF documents at no cost. The website also contains the catalogue
of the institute's John Holmes library.
