Aims

The BCSIA is a US based centre at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. Its aim is to provide leadership in advancing policy-relevant knowledge about the most important challenges of international security and other critical issues where science, technology, environmental policy, and international affairs intersect.

Activities

The BCSIA has a resident research community of more than 150 scholars including Harvard faculty, analysts, practitioners, and each year a new, international, interdisciplinary group of research fellows. The BCSIA also holds frequent seminars, workshops, conferences, and discussions with distinguished visitors from the policy arena, colleagues from universities and research institutions, and affiliates at Harvard and in the greater Boston area. The BCSIA's four main research programs deal with: International Security, Environment and Natural Resources, Science, Technology and Public Policy and Intrastate Conflict, Conflict Prevention, and Conflict Resolution.

Publications and other Resources

The website features a very large range of papers, studies and articles (including those by BCSIA staff appearing in other publications and the media) to download at no cost usually in HTML format. Other reports and books are available at a cost and can be ordered through the website.
