Albert Einstein Institution (AEI)
http://www.aeinstein.org
Aims
The Albert Einstein Institution is a non-profit
organisation advancing the study and use of strategic non-violent action in
conflicts throughout the world. The institution is committed to the defense of
freedom, democracy, and the reduction of political violence through the use of
non-violent action.
Activities
The Institution encourages research and policy
studies on the methods of non-violent action and their past use in diverse
conflicts, sharing the results of this research with the public through
publications, conferences, and the media. The institution is also involved in
consulting with groups in conflict about the strategic potential of non-violent
action. Through courses, workshops, consultations, and the dissemination of
written (often translated) materials, the Policy and Outreach Program seeks to
help increase the skill, competency, and effectiveness of democratic non-violent
movements to achieve liberation from dictatorships and civil, political, or
economic oppression.
Publications and other Resources
The Institution's website has much of its
research available in over twenty different languages in free PDF format. This
includes full-length books as well as shorter studies written by prominent
authors in the field of non-violence and peace research. The website also
contains many useful resources relating to the theory and practice of
non-violence such as frequently asked questions, case studies etc.
