Alexis de Tocqueville Institution (AdTI)
http://www.adti.net
Aims
The AdTI studies the spread and perfection of
democracy around the world. The AdTI aims to do this by following the liberal
ideals of Alexis de Tocqueville; civil liberty, political equality, and economic
freedom and opportunity. The AdTI brings together a diverse group of reporters,
scholars, advisors, and supporters on a wide variety of projects to emulate what
one scholar has termed Tocqueville's "omicurious style of journalism."
Activities
The AdTI primarily produces articles and reports,
under the Institution's general research or within specific and coordinated
projects on subjects such as: democratic opportunities in China, civil society
in Cuba, telecommunications, the IMF, taxes and regulations, intellectual
property rights, environment and defence.
Publications and other Resources
All articles, reports and briefing papers are
available in free HTML format (each subject contains around 10-20 of such pieces
some of which are sourced from other websites and publications).
